Purple Air Monitor

The Fire Department recently installed a Purple Air Monitor. This monitor provides real time air quality measurements of particle pollution (PM2.5).

To view the live map, go to https://map.purpleair.com/1/mAQI/a10/p604800/cC4#14/50.49411/-96.9648

How to read the air quality values.

0-50: Good – Air quality is satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk

50-101: Moderate – Air quality is acceptable. However, there may be a risk for some people, particularly those who are usually sensitive to air pollution.

101-150: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups – Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected.

151-200: Unhealthy – Some members of the general public may experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

202-300: Very Unhealthy – Health Alert: The risk of health effects is increased for everyone.

301-Higher: Hazardous – Health warning of emergency conditions; everyone is more likely to be affected.
