Flooding Update - June 10, 2026 1:15 pm
Water levels in the Town are beginning to recede; however, challenges remain with the sewer system.
The Town's lift station has failed due to the high volume of water entering the system. Emergency pumping trucks have been brought in to maintain sewer service. A State of Local Emergency has been declared to allow the Town to access the resources and funding necessary to respond to this situation.
Residents are reminded to ensure sump pumps are not discharging into the sanitary sewer system or sewer holding tanks, as this can overwhelm the system and increase the risk of sewer backups.
Please continue to use caution when travelling, and obey all barricades and road closures.
Town staff continue to monitor conditions and respond as needed. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we work through this situation.
