Waste Disposal

Waste disposal is provided to all residents of Winnipeg Beach.  Contractor, Ariel Dankochik is currently contracted to provide service on a weekly basis throughout the community.

Garbage collection takes place on Mondays and Fridays following the long weekend in May and ending with Labour Day in September.  During the remaining months of the year, garbage collection will take place on Mondays only.  Please ensure that garbage is placed for pickup prior to 7 am the morning of garbage collection.  Garbage is to be contained in a secured container with a close fitting lid.  Yard waste pick up begins the first Monday in May and ends on the last Monday in October. Paper yard waste bags must be used for all leaves and grass clippings in order to be picked up with the garbage collection. Twigs must be tied in bundles not exceeding 3 feet in length. If the paper yard waste bags are not used, residents are responsible for the delivery of the yard waste to the landfill and opening of the bags.

The Town currently contracts with the Village of Dunnottar for use of their Landfill Site. Winnipeg Beach residents may use the site at no cost for household garbage disposal, providing they have a valid tag. Tags will be provided to you, at no cost, at the Town Office upon proof of residency. Broken tags will be replaced at no cost, providing you bring in the broken tag. Lost tags can be replaced at a cost of $10.

Any other waste material is subject to a tipping charge from the Village of Dunnottar.
